Michellé Morais

Experienced Attorney Fighting for the Rights of Children and Families in Texas

Michellé Morais is an experienced attorney who puts the rights of kids first. She founded Morais Kim Law with the goal of creating a law firm that provides common sense legal solutions for issues impacting children. Michellé is an experienced trial attorney, but her focus remains on helping people resolve difficulties before they find themselves in court. When family members cannot settle outside of the courtroom, she has a robust history of vigorously representing the rights of her clients in court.

Michellé’s legal practice focuses on three core areas: Family Law, Education Rights, and Juvenile Justice.  Michellé is committed to making a useful contribution to the lives of her clients. She takes the time to understand where her clients are coming from and explains complex legal concepts using clear language. She empowers her clients with knowledge of the law and child development to develop long-lasting solutions that best serve the interests of their children.

Dedicated and Respected Children’s Rights Attorney

Michellé is known and respected throughout the legal community in Texas. She has established a strong reputation among lawyers and judges alike for her work ethic, love of the law, and exceptional devotion to children and their families.

Michellé earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. She graduated from law school with pro bono distinction and won several moot court competitions in client counseling. During her law school years, Michellé also lived and worked with the Navajo Nation helping to address critical legal matters such as identity theft, child welfare, and employment rights.

Michellé began her legal career as a licensed attorney interning with the Harris County Attorney’s Office and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, working exclusively on child abuse and neglect matters. She purposefully chose this role to learn firsthand how the state of Texas protects children. After completing this position, Michellé entered private practice where she continues to focus her legal career on serving the needs of children and their families.

Michellé is an attorney volunteer with the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, and she shares her time and talents with many other programs and organizations in her community. She is also a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas - an honorary society recognizing attorneys who are among the best-trained lawyers in the state of Texas and a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children.
